About AMIA Wealth Management Ltd
Hugo Balfour-Melville
For the last 20 years, I have been providing personal financial planning advice to clients predominantly around the Edinburgh area. From strategic planning to innovative solutions, my focus is always on building an efficient and results-driven relationship. I’ll work with you to create a customised plan of action, whether this be for investment portfolios, retirement planning, or inter- generational wealth transfer.
I am passionate about independent financial advice and have seen the benefits this can bring clients through lower charges and wider range of investments.
Services
We will help you understand your current financial position and what your pension, savings and insurance arrangements mean for you now and in the future. We work with leading investment firms offering both active and passive investment portfolios so we can tailor the approach that suits your own specific needs.
Investment Advice
We create diversified portfolios of funds for you, tailored to your personal attitude to risk. Managed by market leading investment firms, rigorous due diligence and the fact we are independent, ensures you will have the most suitable funds available at any particular time to help you achieve your goals.
Retirement Advice
There are many considerations here and some people have different income streams that could be used in retirement. We advise on Lifetime Annuities, Flexi Access Drawdown and general advice on long term income planning. We can help make sense of this and provide the most appropriate advice for each individual circumstance.
Personal Tax planning
We will advise you on the tax implications of investments and pensions, and we also provide inheritance tax planning where we can recommend a range of Gifting, Insurance or Business Relief strategies to minimise any tax paid.
Insurance
We have helped many clients ensure their loved ones are financially protected in the event of their death or illness. This usually involves Life Assurance and Critical Illness Insurance, written under the appropriate Trust. We also advise on Income Protection Insurance which allows income to continue if you are unable to work because of long term illness or injury.
Investments and Pensions - the value of investments can fall as well as rise and you may not get back the amount originally invested.
A pension is a long term investment, the fund value may fluctuate and can go down. Your eventual income may depend on the size of the fund at retirement, future interest rates and tax legislation.
Tax planning - please note that the FCA do not regulate will writing, tax planning and trusts.
